Download uTorrent

1.) Download uTorrent 1.8.1 (or look for the newest version on the internet)

2.) Double Click .exe to install

Configure uTorrent

uTorrent configures itself by default, which is sufficent to start. However, if you want to tweak its performance, and reduce network problems, use this guide.

1.) Launch uTorrent and open Preferences in menu "Options/Preferences..."

2.) Use the following parameters to optimize your client:

Note: (above) For maximum upload rate (kB/s) settings, you can set it to something low, like 8 or 15 when downloading/uploading public torrents, but for private sharing, keep it at maximum "0" (or at least slightly below your maximum outgoing bandwidth for optimum performance).

Note: (above) DHT produces additional network overhead, in otherwords it maintains a lot of connections with other computers on the internet even when torrents are not active. These connections can cause problems for routers that can't handle too many connections. Thus, it should only be enabled when needed. Uncheck both DHT boxes by default.
